about tiny-memory

an intentional, quiet utility for preserving reality.

our philosophy

we live in a world of digital noise, hyper-optimized algorithms, and endless monetization loops. in the race to capture attention, modern software has engineered artificial urgency. tiny-memory rejects this paradigm entirely.

we do not believe journaling should be a performant sport, a curated feed, or another chore requiring a username and password. we do not assume that every day is a sequence of unbridled wins, nor do we attempt to use artificial intelligence to artificially rewrite or summarize human experiences.

the warm utility

tiny-memory is an intentional, quiet utility. it is designed to act exactly like your favorite cotton blanket, an old pair of workout shoes, or a reliable bicycle—unpretentious, structurally sound, deeply personal, and existing purely to serve a practical purpose. we do not demand change; we offer a frictionless repository for reality.

key principles

  • zero-app footprint: by living natively inside messaging platforms like telegram and whatsapp, we eliminate activation friction. you simply reply to a thread you already open daily.
  • the no-ai guarantee: we preserve your thoughts completely raw and unedited. no synthetic rewrites, no generative bot commentary, no artificial mood scores.
  • radical privacy architecture: no streaks to share, no public feeds, no network effects. a secure ecosystem between your messaging app and your personal database.
  • habit loop engineering: grounded in bj fogg's tiny habits framework for low-friction triggers and james clear's atomic habits feedback loops.
"a simple text tool to capture ordinary moments before they pass."

the impact

in 2017, i started a daily journal that captured a brief memory about my thoughts, feelings, and experiences. i continued this practice every day for years, and it has had a profound impact on my life. i have been able to see patterns in my thinking and behavior, and i have been able to make changes that have improved my life. i later added photos to the memories and began replaying old messages back via sms. all of this was built with duct tape and bubble gum. fast forward to 2026, and i decided to build out a proper solution to ensure robustness and simplify the habit. i was so pleased with the result, i decided to share it with the world. i hope it has the same impact on you. 🧡
